Hosting a New Year's Eve party comes with pretty high expectations. This is great if you can actually live up to those expectations, but most of us are only human and don't have the time or resources to do so.
Need some help hosting your next New Year's Eve party? Here are some of my tips for success:
1. Stock Up
A successful New Year's Eve party and chamagne always go hand-in-hand, so make sure you have the perfect place to stock up on bottles! Using a server with built-in storage is perfect for holding all of the necessities including drinkware so no one has to go rummaging through your cabinets.
Want to get crafty? DIY a champagne bottle and cover it in glitter to match the vibe of the event! Get the directions here.
2. Plan Games
No one likes to just sit around and do nothing at a party; get some games together that can be played in groups like Apples to Apples or create your own like Fishbowl (my personal favorite)! For more game ideas, check out our New Year's Eve Pinterest board here.
3. Get Extra Seating
4. Prepare Snacks
Appetizers and fingerfoods are preferable here. It's too much of a hassle to having to find a plate and then worry about carrying your plate and drink at the same time. Keep it simple and easy. No one's really expecting a four-course meal here, anyway.
5. Add Festive Decor
The best kind of New Year's Eve decor is the kind that can last throughout the rest of the winter season. Go for gold and silver metallic accessories when looking for the best pieces. Adding something even as simple as a new set of pillows can really help your home look party-ready!
6. Have an Entertainment Center
I bet that you're going to have about half of your guests watching Dick Clark's New Years Rockin' Eve while the other half won't be paying attention to the TV until the last minute of 2015. Either way, you should have your living room set up to appease both types of guests. Make sure your entertainment system will hold a TV large enough for everyone to watch.
